Kosovo Field

Pomoze Bog, and welcome to Kosovo Field. I intend to focus on news and commentary within the context of conflict between Christianity and Islam, as well as on various other topics within my sphere of interest. There are many such websites and blogs on this and other topics, but I hope to bring to this blog credible information and intelligent commentary with limited rhetoric.

Southron Common Sense vs. Yankee Multiculturalism

The AP is reporting that Republicans in the Georgia State Senate are proposing a measure that would block all taxpayer-funded benefits for non-citizens.
"We don't want Georgia to be a magnet for people to come here simply to live off taxpayer-funded services," said Senate President Pro Tem Eric Johnson, R-Savannah. "We cannot afford to take care of everybody," Johnson said in a news conference with Sen. Chip Rogers, R-Woodstock, whose bill to prohibit benefits to illegal immigrants is pending in the upper chamber.
Anyone receiving benefits would have to be documented as a resident of Georgia and a legal citizen of the US or be living here legally.
Needless to say, state Democrats are opposing the measure; it makes too much sense and will affect some of their voting block---illegal aliens.
